You don't need more discipline.
If that were the issue, you would have solved it by now.

A thinking partner for busy, ambitious people. For the questions you've done well enough to start asking — and have nowhere good to think through.

About

I'm Michael Greenspan.

Headshot of Michael Greenspan

You're capable. You take your work seriously. You've done well, and people rely on you. You handle a lot.

But something feels off. You're thinking more than you want to. Second-guessing calls that used to feel simple. Carrying a quiet pressure to have it all figured out.

You've tried pushing through it. More discipline. More structure. More focus. It helps for a while, but it doesn't resolve what's underneath.

Most people stay in this loop longer than they need to. Not because they don't care, but because they keep trying to solve it the same way.

Before this work, I spent years as an engineer and an engineering leader. Now I work as a thinking partner for busy, ambitious people — one-on-one, on the questions that don't come with a clean next step. Not to hand you a plan, but to help you trust the one you can already feel.

In our conversations, we slow things down enough to see what's actually getting in the way — and take a next step that doesn't come from pressure.

Common questions

A little context.

Who is Michael Greenspan?

I'm a Toronto-based coach and writer. I work one-on-one as a thinking partner for busy, ambitious professionals, and I write at The Complete Engineer and The ADHD Engineer. Before coaching, I spent years as a software engineer and engineering leader.

Are you the Michael Greenspan at Queen’s University?

No — that’s a different person. A few people share the name, including an engineering professor at Queen’s University and a film director. I’m the coach and writer, based in Toronto, formerly a software engineer and engineering leader.

What do you actually do?

I coach busy, ambitious professionals one-on-one — often senior engineers and engineering leaders — on the pressures and questions that don’t come with a clean next step. I also write about pressure, identity, burnout, and ADHD at work.

Where can I read your writing?

Most of it lives at The Complete Engineer and The ADHD Engineer. You can also find me on LinkedIn and YouTube.
